I am Charlie.

Now
> I'm currently working as a full stack software engineer at Tank Utility (a Generac company). Interests
> I'm particularly excited to create interactive visualizations of large-scale, dynamic data in order to help humans generate insight into complex systems, especially where information is uncertain or incomplete.
> I also love to build tools that help users more efficiently and productively perform workflows and manage information.
I'm Good At
> I specialize in web development and data visualizations.
> I enjoy mentoring other engineers and helping my teams integrate best practices into our work process (e.g., documentation, testing, good style, + productive code reviews).
> I have experience with defining requirements, designing and implementing science-informed interfaces using an iterative process, and communicating throughout the process with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
> I am skilled at managing work across multiple projects with competing deadlines, and working in distributed teams. Through my R&D work, I have experience operating under rapid prototyping conditions where requirements are not always clearly defined and can change quickly.
Past
> From 2018 to 2022, I worked as a full stack software engineer specializing in user interface + data visualization R&D at Charles River Analytics in the UX Innovations division. I worked in interdisciplinary teams to create user interfaces that enable humans to effectively perform complex, data-heavy tasks (e.g, mission planning, predictive maintenance, supply chain analytics, healthcare, + scientific research).
> In 2017, I graduated from MIT with a double major in Computer Science + Engineering and Comparative Media Studies. In college, I served as the Publisher of the MIT student newspaper, The Tech.
